Discovery Time!

Our Birthdays!

Today we made a graph on the wall of all our birthdays!

Then we talked about some of the things that we noticed by looking at the graph. We are awesome at statistics!!!

It is only boys who have birthdays in May.  - Ben

July has the most birthdays. - Levi

If you put Miss Simpkins photo up in October, there will still only be girls! - Brooklyn

There's only one girl with a birthday in July. - Tawera

Only one person has a birthday in December. - Connor

April, March and January have no birthdays. - Mahana

Sarah and Bella's pictures are not up yet. Sarah's birthday is in September and Bella's is in August. What will happen when we put their photos up????

(Answer: August and September will have the same number of birthdays as July. - Phoenix)

Guinea Pig Visit

Wow! Rimu Toru were so lucky today - Sarah and her mum Sharon brought in some baby guinea pigs (and their mum 'Flossie'!) for us to hold and feed. Here are some pictures we drew and stories we wrote:

This morning Sarah brought guinea pigs to school. They ate and wriggled and squeaked. They were so soft that I could cuddle them all day. I love baby guinea pigs. They are so cute and I want a pet one.

Today Sarah brought some guinea pigs in. Their names were Twinkle Toes, Cedric, Shy and Tyrion.

Today Sarah brought in guinea pigs. The guinea pigs were great. I liked it.

Today Sarah's mum came in to share some guinea pigs. I held them. They are really really soft on the back. I held Twinkle Toes and Cedric.
